[Inspiration] Comedy Styling

Comedy and humour is a HUGE thing in my life, and with the "Cleaning" animation in development I thought i'd share some examples of the type of comedy I will be taking inspiration from, starting with films, then anime and then internet shows:

[Project: Cleaning] The New Narrative Project: Cleaning

The second semester has arrived, and though we're still near the end of the Royal Armouries project our second animation project has been set. Being a narrative animation of your choice, there are no rules for this one, though it has to have a narrative. So for this project, I thought I might make one of my ideas for a show come alive, that being The Uni-verse of Jack Miles. However, with a rather large twist.

The show was originally going to be a serious, slice of life university experience, however after thinking about what I should do the animation about I decided to go with a balls out, wacky comedy type show with the characters. Though the original plot may still be intact, it'll just be more comedic than originally planned. I decided that I wanted to make an episode based on nothing that I had originally thought, make something totally new with the idea, so I decided to take a simple idea and make it funny, so I decided to base the episode around cleaning a house. We were told to present our Idea on the 05/02/13 in the form of a presentation, here is what I presented:

The idea was greatly received and everyone enjoyed the idea. Rossie Stated that "It is a great example of taking a simple idea and bringing it to a new level." As of now I have the basic plot down, the characters down and a few Backgrounds completed. I wanted to do the backgrounds first so I could get a feeling for what the show would look like, here is what I have so far:

I will still do a bit more editing to them, colour wise and add more objects to them, however this is basically the style I am going for. The style is similar to the style I am doing for Anthony's Crusaders animation, or in other words, the MLP series. Because I am doing backgrounds from the show, I thought it'd be a decent idea to get the feeling for the style they do their backgrounds in, bright colours, no outlines ect. 

The I will go into the plot in alot more detail later the only things I have now is what is in the presentation, which is; The main character goes into the kitchen and sees its a mess, decides to get the house to clean it, he goes out and gets the cleaning products and comes home. Each character is then given a specific room to clean, however each character then has his/her own skit while cleaning, after each character has been shown the house will be clean. As I say I will go into greater detail later once I have a better idea of what I will put in.

This is basically all i have as far as plot elements go and drawing styles, I will update the blog more frequently about the animation from now on.
