[Showcase] Various Animations #1

The internet is a great source for animations, especially Youtube. You can host any animation you create there, and find a whole load of brilliant, humorous  moving and beautiful animated videos. Here I will talk about a few shorts, music videos and various other animations I have really enjoyed or want to share to show you, talk about them and to get your attention of.

Dye - Fantasy:

If you just watched it, I am sure you are as confused as I was, or as confused as anyone was who watched it. Personally, I think the song is amazing, and it has been one of my favourites for a while, the animation is incredibly well done and follows an anime influenced style. The story on the other hand, is incredibly abstract and very unpredictable, however I believe it has deeper meaning than what is seen to believe;

A group of teenagers break into a  local swimming pool for some night swimming, drinking a few beers and what have you. The four characters are all innocent ones, though like to have fun. The story is shown through the girls eyes, when she witnesses acts of a sexual nature she see's it as alien and monstrous and tries to run from her fate, knowing she has no choice she delves into the water and reaches adult hood represented by a large alien wasteland. When she enters the wasteland she is welcomed by a light, shining across her, this could be represented as the saying "The truth is like the sun, if you stare directly at it, you'll be blinded". The truth being about the truth of adulthood and how scary it actually is to witness first hand.

It is directed by a Frenchman known as Jérémie Périn, who writes and directs animated TV shows, video games and shorts. Before this animation he directed an adult comedy short music video called Flairs - Truckers Delight, though that is by no means as compelling as this animation, the story for Dye - Fantasy is stunningly original, incredibly unpredictable and has one of the most beautiful tracks I have heard in a long time.
